Karl Adam
Partner Amsterdam, London

Karl Adam, Partner, joined Monument Group in 2015 and is part of the European investor coverage team working on primary fundraisings, secondary transactions and advisory services. He shares his time between Monument Group’s London and Amsterdam offices. Previously, he was a Vice President in Citi Private Bank’s European private equity team and was a Senior Associate at Alta Advisers, a leading family office where he focused on private equity and natural resources investment opportunities. He has also worked at CHAMP Private Equity, a Sydney-based general partner, and began his career at McKinsey & Co.

Karl has a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Auckland. He was born in Berlin.

Niklas Amundsson
Partner Hong Kong

Niklas Amundsson, Partner based in Hong Kong, joined Monument Group in 2015 and has investor coverage responsibility in Asia Pacific, working on primary fundraisings, secondary transactions and advisory services. He previously headed up the Hong Kong office of MVision, which he joined in 2007. Prior to that, Niklas was with Almeida Capital in London, where he was responsible for the firm’s fundraising business, and with Credit Suisse First Boston in London and Frankfurt, where he worked on the equity sales desk, raising capital for structured products as well as selling equities to Nordic and German-speaking institutional clients.

Niklas has a BA (Hons) from the University of Portsmouth.

Kyra Averman
Associate London

Kyra Averman joined Monument Group in 2019 and is an Associate on the firm’s analytics team in the London office, working on primary fundraisings, secondary transactions and advisory services. Previously, she completed co-ops in private wealth management at Goldman Sachs and in OTC derivatives at Wellington Management.

Kyra holds a BS cum laude from Northeastern University.

Janet Brooks
Partner Amsterdam, London

Janet Brooks, Partner based in Amsterdam, joined Monument Group in 2007 and is part of the European investor coverage team, working on primary fundraisings, secondary transactions and advisory services. She also spends time working with Monument Group’s Hong Kong office. Previously, Janet spent 15 years with ECI Partners, ultimately as a Director and board member, where she had responsibility for the firm’s investor relations and the oversight of four successful institutional fundraisings together with the development of firm-wide marketing and deal flow strategy. She has served on the Investor Relations committees of the BVCA and EVCA.

Janet has an MA (Hons) from Cambridge University and an MBA from INSEAD.

Steve Cahill
Partner London

Steve Cahill, Partner based in London, joined Monument Group in 2006 and is part of the European investor coverage team, working on primary fundraisings, secondary transactions and advisory services. Additionally, he has investor coverage responsibilities in the Middle East. Previously, he worked for private equity fund placement firm Helix Associates and Fast Track where he serviced private equity sponsors with deal flow opportunities. Steve co-founded a media start-up and was an employee and Scholar of Arthur Andersen.

Steve has a first-class MA (Hons) from Oxford University.

Lori Campana, CFA
Partner Boston

Lori Campana, Partner based in Boston, joined Monument Group in 2003 and has investor coverage responsibility in the US, working on primary fundraisings, advisory services and secondary transactions. Previously, she was a SVP at Atlantic Trust Company, where she was a Senior Portfolio Manager for high-net-worth families and institutions and a Vice President at Wellington Management Company, where she advised endowments, foundations and pension funds on the oversight of their investment portfolios. Lori has also held senior consultant, acquisition and portfolio management positions in the real estate investment industry, most recently with AEW Capital Management.

Lori has an MA and an MPL from the University of Southern California, together with a BS from Boston College. She holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is FINRA Series 7 and 63 registered through Monument Group, Inc.

Myra Choo
Director Boston

Myra Choo is a Director on the secondaries team and is based in Boston. She brings over 15 years of experience across private equity investing, fundraising and investor relations. Previously, Myra led the San Francisco office for MVision Private Equity Advisers, responsible for West Coast investor relations and she served as an investor relations professional at Thomas H. Lee Partners, where she focused on the firm’s Asia-based investor relationships. Myra began her private equity career at HarbourVest Partners, as an investment professional in the primary partnership group where she invested and advised on Private Equity fund interests across managers in the U.S., Israel, and Latin America.

Patrick Coffey

Patrick Coffey, Senior Associate on the firm’s analytics team based in Boston, joined Monument Group in 2022. He works on primary fundraisings, secondary transactions and advisory services. Previously, he worked at G2 Capital Advisors as an Investment Banking Analyst supporting investment bankers in the execution of sell-side M&A engagements and transactions. Prior to this, he was an Associate on the Investor Relations team at HarbourVest Partners where he was responsible for handling investor reporting requirements for funds focused on several different investment strategies.

Jennifer Coppinger

Jennifer Coppinger joined Monument Group in 2001 and is the Office Manager of the Boston office. Previously, Jennifer worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in various roles, including at the Office of State Treasurer & Receiver General where she was the Administrative Assistant to the Assistant Treasurer. Prior to the State Treasury, she worked for the Office of the Secretary of the Commonwealth in their Corporations Division.

Stephen Day

Stephen Day, Senior Vice President on the firm’s analytics team based in Boston, joined Monument Group in 2017. He works on primary fundraisings, secondary transactions and advisory services. Previously, he worked at Cambridge Associates as an Investment Associate in the Credit Investment Group, where he was responsible for long-only fixed income research on a global basis.

Molly Diggins
Partner, General Counsel Boston

Molly Diggins, Partner and General Counsel based in Boston, joined Monument Group in 2011. Previously she was Senior Vice President and Assistant General Counsel at Brown Brothers Harriman & Co., where she worked on the formation and global distribution of both proprietary and non-proprietary funds, including alternative assets. Prior to that, Molly had served as counsel to the distribution arms of Metropolitan Life Insurance Company and John Hancock / Manulife Financial and began her career as an associate at Goodwin Procter where she focused on securities litigation and regulatory matters. She also clerked for the Honorable Justice Charles A. Levin of the Michigan Supreme Court.

Molly has a BA, cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from the College of the Holy Cross and a JD from the University of Chicago.

Nadine Downing
Director of IT Boston

Nadine Downing joined Monument Group in 1999 and is a Director leading the firm’s Information Technology group based in the Boston office. Previously, Nadine spent several years with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in various roles including Director of the Medical Services Unit where she helped to develop and implement health care policies for children in the care and custody of the Department of Social Services.

Stephen Emery, CFA
Vice President Boston

Steve Emery is a Vice President on the Secondaries team and is based in Boston. He brings 10 years of experience working on the investment teams of two institutional investment managers. Previously, Stephen was a Senior Trader at Man Group PLC, where he advised on fund launches and fund restructurings on portfolios ranging from $50 million to $1+ billion in size. Prior to his role at Man Group, Stephen was an Associate on the Portfolio Management team of Arrowstreet Capital Limited Partnership, where he was involved in the entire investment process including portfolio management, trading, and performance attribution.

Steve holds a BS in Economics-Finance from Bentley University, is a CFA Charterholder, and has a Certificate in ESG investing from the CFA Institute.

Lars Fonkert
Vice President Amsterdam

Lars Fonkert, Vice President based in Amsterdam, joined Monument Group in 2023 and is part of the European investor coverage team, working on primary fundraisings, secondary transactions and advisory services. Previously he was an Institutional Sales Manager for Amundi, Europe’s largest asset manager, consulting across a range of asset classes with a strong focus on sustainability.  Prior to Amundi, Lars had various roles at financial data and analytics firm FactSet, managing a base of institutional, investment banking and private equity clients. He also worked at Laaken Asset Management, an Amsterdam based wealth manager, and began his career at the structured products desk at ABN Amro.

Lars holds a MSc. in Business Administration from the University of Amsterdam.

Meredith Gendron, CFA

Meredith Gendron, Partner based in Boston, joined Monument Group in 2005 and co-leads the firm’s analytics team. She works on primary fundraisings, secondary transactions and advisory services. Previously, she worked at Olson Global Markets as a technical analyst, where she was responsible for compiling and editing a series of daily reports detailing trading strategies for domestic equities based on technical indicators.

Allie Haynes, CPA

Previously, Allie worked at BDO USA, LLP, as a Senior Manager specializing in auditing private equity funds, venture capital funds, hedge funds, and fund of funds.

Albert Jun

Albert S.W. Jun, Partner based in Hong Kong, joined Monument Group in 2015 and has investor coverage responsibility for Korea and broader Asia, working on primary fundraisings, secondary transactions and advisory services. Previously, he was with NH Investment & Securities (f.k.a. Woori Investment & Securities) in Korea, where he was a Vice President and Team Leader of the Fund Placement Division. Prior to that, Albert was with Shinbo Venture Capital in Korea, where he was responsible for venture start-up investment, and with Lazard Advisory in Korea, where he worked as M&A advisor.

Ellie Kennedy

Ellie Kennedy, Partner based in Boston, joined Monument Group in 2010. Ellie oversees the firm’s client service and administrative functions and works closely with the Managing Partner and COO on project management and strategic initiatives. Before joining Monument Group, Ellie worked in the Investor Services and Markets Group at Brown Brothers Harriman & Co. She holds a BS degree from Florida State University.

James Kwon

James Kwon joined Monument Group in 2022 and is a Senior Analyst on the firm’s analytics team in the Hong Kong office. He works on primary fundraisings, secondary transactions and advisory services. Previously, James worked as a Corporate Loan Analyst at Woori Bank Hong Kong Branch, mainly focusing on bilateral loan deals.

James holds a BSc from University of Warwick and MSc from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

Patrick MacCurtain

Pat MacCurtain, Partner and Chief Operating Officer based in Boston, joined Monument Group in 2006. Previously, Pat worked at BlackRock in the Dealer Services group, where he was responsible for the oversight of a range of transfer agency operations. Prior to BlackRock, he held several positions in the Financial Services group at State Street Research.

Pat has a BA from Boston College and an MBA from Northeastern University.

Natalie McClung
Vice President of Compliance & Operations Boston

Natalie McClung joined Monument Group in 2018 and is Vice President of Compliance & Operations in the Boston office. Previously, Natalie worked as a Consultant at Zelus Consulting Group LLC and as a Senior Accounting and Reporting Specialist for the Bank of New York Mellon.

John McCormick

John McCormick, Partner based in Boston, joined Monument Group in 2006 and has investor coverage responsibility in North America and Latin America, working on primary fundraisings, secondary transactions and advisory services. Previously, John was a Consultant at Cambridge Associates where he advised institutional and family office clients on alternative asset investments. Prior to this he was a Vice President at BancBoston Capital / BancBoston Ventures where he was responsible for primary and secondary fund investments as well as direct investments in both early stage venture and middle market buyout opportunities. John also worked as an investment banking analyst in Lehman Brothers’ M&A department.

Michael Miller

Mike Miller, Managing Partner based in Boston, joined Monument Group in 1998 and is responsible for the strategic direction of the firm on a global basis. Mike also works with investors and clients and is involved in sourcing new business for the firm. Prior to joining Monument Group, Mike was a Senior Research Associate at Cambridge Associates focused on private equity research and also worked in Merrill Lynch’s Media Investment Banking Group.

Bart Molloy

Bart Molloy, Partner based in Boston, joined Monument Group in 2002 and has investor coverage responsibility in the US and Canada, working on primary fundraisings, secondary transactions and advisory services. Previously, he worked at Audax Group on the deal team, responsible for investing the firm’s first private equity fund. Prior to this, Bart was at Commonfund Capital, where he evaluated private equity and venture capital partnerships globally, and he began his career in Merrill Lynch’s Oil and Gas Investment Banking Group.

Hiroshi Nishimuro
Japan Representative Tokyo

Hiroshi Nishimuro, Japan Representative based in Tokyo, joined Monument Group in 2021. Hiroshi leads the firm’s fundraising efforts and general partner relationships in Japan, working on primary fundraisings, secondary transactions and advisory services. He previously was at Morgan Stanley, where he held a variety of positions since 2009, including leading private equity initiatives in Japan for Morgan Stanley Private Equity Asia. As a product specialist, his coverage encompassed all alternatives. Prior to Morgan Stanley, Hiroshi worked at Unison Capital, a Japan-based mid-cap buyout firm, and as an Equity Analyst in the Global Investment Research Division of Goldman Sachs.

Hiroshi received a BA from Soka University and an MA from SAIS, Johns Hopkins University.

Solomon Owayda
Partner Boston

Solomon Owayda, Partner, co-leads the secondaries team at Monument Group. Solomon co-founded Mozaic Capital Advisors as an affiliate of Monument Group in 2015. He has over 35 years of experience investing and managing institutional private equity investment portfolios. Previously, Solomon was a Managing Director at Siguler Guff on the investment team and Chief Investment Officer of SVG Advisors, the advisory business of SVG Capital PLC. Prior to that, Solomon was at the California State Teachers Retirement System (CalSTRS) as the Director of the Alternative Investments program; during which time he assisted with the formation of the Institutional Limited Partners Association (ILPA) and served as the group’s Chairman until 1997.

Solomon has an MBA from the Sheldon B. Lubar School of Business at the University of Wisconsin and a BS from the Marquette University. He also attended the American University of Beirut. Solomon is currently a trustee of The Church Pension Group, an $17+ Billion Pension Fund where he serves as chair of the Investment Committee.

Christine Patrinos
Partner Boston

Christine Patrinos, Partner, co-leads the secondaries team at Monument Group. Christine co-founded Mozaic Capital Advisors as an affiliate of Monument Group in 2015. Christine has over 20 years of experience in private equity investing, portfolio management and transaction sourcing. Previously, Christine founded a private equity consulting practice advising large institutional clients on divesting private equity interests, fund structuring and valuation. Prior to that, she worked as an investment professional at HarbourVest Partners. Previously, Christine worked at Citigroup where she had several roles including as a founding member of the infrastructure M&A advisory practice; founding member of the Public Sector Group which advised sovereign clients on large asset divestitures; and as a member of the Structured Corporate Finance group.

Christine has an MBA from MIT’s Sloan School of Business and a BS from Babson College.

Max Polich
Analyst Boston

Max Polich joined Monument Group in 2023 and is a Secondaries Analyst in the Boston Office. Previously he completed internships at ISG as a private equity analyst and at EY in their tax compliance and financial services divisions.

Max holds a BA from Bates College.

Peter Reuter
Vice President Boston

Peter Reuter, Vice President based in Boston, joined Monument Group in 2022 and has investor coverage responsibility in the US, working on primary fundraisings, secondary transactions and advisory services. Previously, he worked at Aviditi Advisors as a Vice President on the Capital Solutions team where he assisted in capital raising across debt and equity in both public and private markets. Prior to this, he was an Associate at BMO Capital Markets on the Leveraged Finance team.

Charlene Sanna

Charlene Sanna is a Vice President on the Secondaries team and is based in Boston. She brings over 14 years of private investment operations experience. Previously, Charlene was a Principal for The Baupost Group, where she implemented and oversaw data and documentation workflows relating to trading activity, cash management, class action filings and regulatory incentives.

Charlene holds a BS from Clarkson University in Environmental Science and Policy.

Madison Scalise

Susanne Street joined Monument Group in 2007 and is a Client Service Senior Associate in the London office. Previously, Susanne was a business executive assistant at Amadeus Capital Partners. Prior to this, she worked for UBS and a boutique investment bank and also worked in Hong Kong for Asia City Media Group and Savills.

Susanne holds a business administration qualification and a Securities Institute’s Certificate in Securities and Regulations.

David Wilson is a Vice President on the Secondaries team and is based in Boston. He brings 8 years of investment banking and capital advisory experience. Previously, David was a Vice President at Greenhill & Co in San Francisco, advising clients on a broad range of M&A, restructuring and capital advisory transactions both in the United States and internationally. Prior to Greenhill, David was an Associate at Jefferies in San Francisco and an Associate at Flagstaff Partners in Melbourne, Australia.

Laurence Zage
Partner London

Laurence Zage, Partner based in London, joined Monument Group in 2006 and co-leads the firm’s analytics team. He also has project management responsibilities across Europe, working on primary fundraisings, secondary transactions and advisory services. Previously, he was Vice President and Head of Research at private equity fund placement firm Helix Associates. Prior to this, Laurence was a barrister specialising in criminal defence advocacy.

Keith Zou

Keith Zou, Senior Vice President on the firm’s analytics team based in Hong Kong, joined Monument Group in 2018. He works on primary fundraisings, secondary transactions and advisory services. Previously, Keith worked as a Senior Investment Analyst at Mercer, focusing on Asia private equity funds on behalf of the firm’s fund-of-funds and other mandates. Prior to that, he worked at Willis Towers Watson with its Private Markets Manager Research team.

Keith received his BSc from Imperial College London and MSc from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

Alicia Cooney, CFA

Alicia Cooney co-founded Monument Group in 1994 and is now a Senior Advisor. Previously, Alicia was a Consultant for more than 13 years at the internationally recognized consulting firm Cambridge Associates, where she was primarily responsible for development of the firm’s specialized alternative asset consulting practice for its endowment, foundation, pension and family office clients. Prior to this, Alicia was an investment banker at Bear, Stearns & Co. and an equity analyst at Bache, Halsey, Stuart & Shields.

Alicia has a BA from Wellesley College and an MBA from The Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.

Robert Mast

Bob Mast joined Monument Group in 1996 and is now a Senior Advisor. Bob was previously a Consultant at Cambridge Associates, where he advised institutional and family office clients on alternative asset investments. Prior to that, he had been Vice President at Venture Economics, where he designed and implemented private equity investment programs for corporate strategic investors and governmental entities globally. Bob’s former work experience includes a variety of management positions at Standard Oil Company, Oceaneering International and Schlumberger.

Bob has a BS from Princeton University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

John McLaren

John McLaren co-founded Monument Group in 1994 and is now a Senior Advisor. Previously, John had been Managing Director, Alternative Assets, at the Virginia Retirement System, where he recommended and oversaw commitments of more than $2 billion to alternative asset funds. Prior to this, he had held various executive positions, including Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer in the thrift industry.

John has a BBA from James Madison University.
